A downloadable visual novel for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Every Christmas Eve  for more than a century, a mysterious recluse has been breaking into children's homes and leaving inducements behind. But somehow, no one ever thought to ask is... WHY?

World-renowned physician Dr. Antony Darley and his faithful sidekick Mr. Alex Homain  discover the shocking answer to this question when they are taken captive while on a polar expedition.  But will they be able to escape with their lives?

Dr. Darley and the Prisoners at Santa's Workshop is an irreverent visual novel that's like a cross between Danganronpa and Professor Layton

It's completely linear, so it contains none of that pesky gameplay that hampers so many other video games! With a length of 48,400 words, it can be read in a few sittings.

I'm an artiste, not a programmer, so this  is unoptimized and probably has a bunch of minor, (hopefully non-game-breaking) technical issues. Linux version hasn't been tested.

Regarding the whole "name your own price" thing:   Don't feel at all obligated to, but if you're considering throwing me a couple bucks, I encourage you to "try before you buy" and only donate if it meets your expectations. In any event, thanks for checking this out!

Hey! I played this game years ago and I remembered it recently. I still love it just as much as I did in the past. I was laughing so much the entire time. I hope you'll make more visual novels again in the future!

The story was fantastic!! I usually hate visual novels but the combination of sound design, visuals, awesome writing, and unique characters that had good chemistry just made it amazing

AND THE TWISTS!!!! Awesome!!!!!!!

The first case of Dr Darley was fun and all, but this one blew me away. I laughed out loud so many times, I've stopped counting. I managed to read it all in one sitting (took about 3 hours, though).

Firstly, the artwork is so zany and simply captures the essence of the characters. I liked that everyone had at least some backstory. Secondly, I loved the mystery in this one better than the previous, probably because it was longer & more developed. Buuut, the best thing is probably the corny jokes and just humorous dialogue. Really fun and easy to read. Can't wait for more of Dr Darley's strange cases :D

Thanks so much for the kind words, it means a lot!
I have a vague idea for the next one, but it'll probably be a while before I could even think about starting it; I just started a new job so my free time is a bit scarce. But as I say I really appreciate the kind words!

Just so you know, There's a moment when Dirk is speaking about how he got to the place that the tree is shown uncovered prematurely.

Oh no, you're right!
I've fixed it in the script, and will upload the new version with the fix at some point. Thanks for the heads up!
